The Medical University of Graz in Graz, Austria made a stunning finding in a recent survey: Vegetarians are less healthy than their meat-eating counterparts!
The study, which you can read in its entirety here, found that meat-eaters have a higher BMI and a higher rate of alcohol consumption.Vegetarians also tend to have a higher socio-economic status. However, their quality of life is lower.
The researchers found that vegetarians were twice as likely to have allergies, had a 50% increase in incidences of cancer, and also had a 50% increase in heart attacks. Vegetarians also tend to have more chronic diseases and poor mental health.
Further, the study noticed that vegetarians are more prone to other bad habits, such as skipping vaccines and preventative care.
