Over the weekend, anti-GMO activists participated in the annual March Against Monsanto protests in several major cities. As I reported previously, this was the first year that there was an organized counter-protest at many of the main MAM locations. March Against Myths (About Modification) was the organized effort by those in favor of genetically engineered crops to create a positive and informative presence at these events which, quite frankly, lack a lot of substance.
As I posted on my social media accounts the day of the event, we are still knee deep in #plant15, so none of us were able to attend the counter-protests. Nonetheless, I am so thankful to the organizers of MAMyths and those that participated. It was very nice to see so many people sticking up for biotechnology in one of the most hostile environments I can imagine!
On my Facebook page, I posted a graphic that read “I support biotechnology” and asked followers to post why they supported GMOs and then share the graphic with all of their friends. I was very pleased that so many people participated and the graphic became a great way for people to express their support for the technology and share all of that combined support on the Internet. You can find the graphic and all of the comments here.
I would like to share some of the war stories from MAMyths supporters that were on the ground over the weekend. If you’re interested in hearing their firsthand stories or reading more about it, check out these links:

Next year have simple yes no questions, I know politicians don’t like it. example: Are you willing to pick bugs and weeds for farmer, let children in India, Have dust storms they had in 1930’s from organic farming (summer fallow) Weed seeds blowing around country from organic farms, Grasshoppers, Mosquitoes, etc. I know there will be a lot more yes no questions.
