I have always said that farmers are the true environmentalists, not those people that go around hugging trees or destroying crops they don’t like. And there have been many times that I’ve explained how genetically engineered crops can not only help the environment, but also help poor people. Golden Rice is the perfect example.
And now it looks like Bill Gates agrees with me.
I’m glad that Gates and his wife have taken a pro-GMO stance, at least to the extent that he recognizes GE crops can be good for the environment or help people in impoverished areas.
