I always wonder why men are “farmers,” but women call themselves farmer’s “wives” or “daughters.”
Amanda says
Probably just traditional gender roles, honestly. Though I chose my name because technically I don’t farm, but I’m the daughter of farmers. But then the name should be farmers’ and not farmer’s. I will say that most men in the industry still see it that way. I went to a farm show a few weeks back and few of the exhibitors spoke to me directly. It felt a little strange.
