Good news on this post-primary Wednesday – Missouri’s Right to Farm Amendment was passed by voters yesterday!
Now, it only won by a margin of 2,500 votes, so I’ve seen that an automatic recount will take place to be sure. I will update as news becomes available.
Congratulations to Missouri for standing up for agriculture and supporting farmers! The Missouri Constitution will now include the words:
“That agriculture which provides food, energy, health benefits, and security is the foundation and stabilizing force of Missouri’s economy. To protect this vital sector of Missouri’s economy, the right of farmers and ranchers to engage in farming and ranching practices shall be forever guaranteed in this state, subject to duly authorized powers, if any, conferred by article VI of the Constitution of Missouri.”

UPDATE: Missouri Farm Bureau’s President Blake Hurst said this in a statement today:
This was truly a team effort, and we were proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with our friends from other agriculture organizations, members of the Missouri Congressional delegation, statewide elected officials and members of the Missouri General Assembly.
Congratulations to every Missouri farmer who has made a phone call, put up a yard sign, posted on Facebook, or talked to their neighbors at church or at the county fair. This victory belongs to you, and you can be proud of what you have done for Missouri farming.
