Crop farmers have plenty to keep them busy during the summer months, though it's true that they may not be working every single day.
In Lethbridge, Alberta, the Agricultural Research Station set out a series of crop rotations to determine their affect on soil health. This was in 1910. Those plots along with additions over the years are still active today. My point being that soil heath concerns have been recognized for a long time.
Indeed! Just because soil health is now a mainstream trend doesn’t mean farmers haven’t thought about it for a long time now.
