Finally, A Mudpuddle!

August 21, 2016

It’s been a long time since we’ve seen any of these on the farm!

From the beginning of May until the middle of August we had just over an inch of rain. That REALLY hurt our corn crop. But last weekend and again this weekend, we’ve had over 2 inches of rain. It probably won’t make much difference for the corn yields, but it doesn’t hurt and we were happy to see it.

Unfortunately, it also came with tornadoes that destroyed some local farms and damaged homes. Definitely thinking about the people hurt by the destruction and, of course, the people experiencing all the flooding in Louisiana.
