I haven’t previously posted anything regarding the 2012 Farm Bill (the Senate passed a version and the House is currently working on it), because the final bill is obviously in flux. However, I did find a report about the lobbying related to the legislation.
Food & Water Watch, a group dedicated to making sure food in the United States is safe, “accessible and sustainable” came out with a report indicating who spent what money on lobbying for the Farm Bill. While I naturally doubt the integrity of this organization, I think it is interesting to see where the numbers are coming from and how each side lines up. Click here to read the report (but be wary, the commentary on the numbers is obviously geared toward supporting environmental groups).
