Have you heard of the “Clean Diet?”
Yeah, I hadn’t either until I was perusing Pinterest on a boring Friday evening. The goal of the diet is to “clean up” your diet so you eat more “good” foods and less “bad” foods. The question is how you differentiate between the two types of foods. Of course, social media is teeming with suggestions on which foods are better, and which foods you should avoid completely.
One of the suggestions for the Clean Diet is that people eat brown eggs instead of white eggs.
What is the difference between white eggs and brown eggs? This might actually make you laugh.
White-feathered chickens with white ear lobes lay white eggs and red-feathered ones with red ear lobes lay brown eggs (this may not apply to all breeds). And besides that, there are certain chickens that even lay speckled eggs and blue eggs. But when you get down to the egg, nutritionally there is no difference — it’s all just in the looks. Otherwise, the eggs are exactly the same — nutritionally, taste, and coloring. Brown eggs usually sell for more, hence making people assume they’re better, only because brown eggs tend to be bigger (the breed of chicken is bigger).
So, go ahead, buy your favorite color and just enjoy.
