Allies of Agriculture: Tyson Foods Donates to Ranchers Relief

December 2, 2013

(Allies of Agriculture is a series highlighting and showcasing individuals, organizations, and companies that support and promote the agricultural community through marketing, food standards, or charity. Do you know of a person, group, or company that deserves to be recognized? Email your suggestion to: [email protected].)

Back at the beginning of October, a fairly severe blizzard passed through parts of South Dakota and devastated a whole lot of ranch farm families who were unable to save their herds. A lot of people have stepped up to the challenge of helping those poor ranchers, including establishing the Rancher’s Relief Fund.

Tyson Foods made a deal with the charity that promoted the relief efforts and also donated $50,000. Tyson made good on that promise and cut a check to the organization.

Thank you to Tyson Foods for helping support the South Dakota Ranchers. And thank you to all those who have worked to raise money for the cause so far. These poor people definitely need whatever aid – financial, goods & services, or otherwise — that people can provide.
